PIP & CORE WAS BORN FROM A MOTHERS DEEP BELIEF:

PLAY IS NOT JUST WHAT CHILDREN DO -

IT’S WHO THEY ARE.

PIP & CORE

I’m Kate, and Pip & Core was established in 2025.

I always thought I’d be a fashion designer. I studied at London College of Fashion, then fashion marketing, before life gently rerouted me. I ended up working with children and young people for over 20 years, creating spaces for expression, leading creative projects, and learning something simple but profound: play is a child’s job.

It’s how they explore, problem-solve, connect, and understand their place in the world.

So when I became a mum, all that knowledge came with me. But I couldn’t find the kind of clothes I wanted for my children—not costumes for adults in miniature, but pieces that honoured the seriousness of play.

Clothes that moved with them, softened with time, and made space for both joy and chaos.

I started making my own—printing tees, dyeing fabrics, altering shapes. Twelve years (and five kids) later, Pip and Core was born.

These are foundational, black-on-black pieces designed to be lived in. A kind of uniform for the imaginative, the wild-hearted, the ones building their own worlds one game at a time. Uncomplicated. Durable. Unisex.

Because if play is a child’s work, they deserve a wardrobe that’s built for it.
